How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home

Method 1: String or Paper Strip

  1. Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of non-stretchy string approximately 15 cm long.
  2. Wrap it snugly (not tightly) around the base of the finger you intend to wear the ring on.
  3. Mark the point where the paper or string meets itself.
  4. Measure the length in millimetres — this is your finger circumference.
  5. Use the size chart provided above to find your ring size.

Method 2: Existing Ring

  1. Find a ring that already fits the intended finger comfortably.
  2. Place it on a ruler and measure the internal diameter in millimetres.
  3. Cross-reference with our diameter column in the size chart above.

Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure at the end of the day — fingers are slightly larger in the evening due to warmth and activity.
  • Avoid measuring when cold — fingers can shrink by up to half a size in cold weather.
  • Wider bands fit tighter — if you choose a band wider than 6 mm, consider sizing up by half a size.
  • Dominant hand is slightly larger — if ordering for your dominant hand, account for this.
  • Measure twice — take the measurement 2–3 times and use the average for accuracy.
  • Free resize offer — Moonrays offers one complimentary resize within 60 days of delivery, so even if you are between sizes you can order with confidence.
